Saskatoon Greek Community

The Saskatoon Greek Community, formally known as The Hellenic Orthodox Community of Saskatoon, Koimissis Tis Theotokou, has been serving the spiritual and cultural needs of Saskatoon, SK since its official registration in 1964. As a dedicated Greek Orthodox faith community, we provide essential services to preserve and celebrate Greek heritage while fostering deep connections to Orthodox Christian traditions. Our organization offers a range of community programs and initiatives designed to strengthen cultural identity and support local engagement. We host the Hellenic Language School, providing opportunities for young people and adults throughout Saskatoon to learn the Greek language while gaining appreciation for Greek culture and traditions. Beyond language education, our community actively participates in major Saskatoon events including Canada Day Celebrations and Folkfest, a prominent three-day summer festival showcasing diverse cultures. We organize charitable initiatives such as Jims Ouzopalooza, which raises funds for worthy causes benefiting the broader Saskatoon community. Our cultural dance groups perform at various celebrations and events throughout Saskatchewan, including presentations at senior citizen homes across Saskatoon. Additionally, we demonstrate our commitment to social responsibility through food hamper distribution to those in need and financial assistance during times of crisis. Our affiliation with numerous charitable organizations reflects our dedication to making a meaningful impact in Saskatoon, SK, while maintaining the spiritual foundation of our Greek Orthodox faith and honoring the legacy of early Greek immigrants who established this vibrant community.
