Greek Community of Toronto

The Greek Community of Toronto is a comprehensive cultural and educational organization serving the Greater Toronto Area with over 114 years of dedicated service to the Greek-Canadian community. Established in 1909 and incorporated as a registered non-profit charitable organization in 1965, the GCT offers extensive programming across multiple departments designed to preserve and promote Hellenic culture, language, and traditions. The organization operates multiple Greek language schools throughout Toronto, including intensive programs such as Aristotelis Recognized School, weekday comprehensive programs at Platonas and Omiros schools, and Saturday programs at St. Demetrios, Odysseas Elytis, and Panagia schools serving kindergarten through grade 8. For secondary education, the GCT provides Ontario Ministry of Education accredited credit schools including Socrates and Aristotelis Credit Schools for grades 9-12. Beyond education, the organization actively delivers cultural activities, social services, religious programming, and charitable assistance to support the broader Greek-Canadian population. With representation spanning over 150,000 Canadians of Hellenic descent in the Greater Toronto Area, the GCT remains committed to fostering an environment where Greek heritage flourishes while enriching Canada's diverse social and cultural landscape. The organization maintains active membership programs, community events including celebrations and cultural festivities, and volunteer opportunities for those wishing to engage with the community.
